A guide when taking SAT PREP test

November 30th, 2009 by admin

Almost any test can be challenging. Even those who learn fast and who get high scores in their exams will admit that only through perseverance studying hard were they able to achieve a good exam result. The same is true when taking SAT PREP test. Study dilligently and learn the rules by heart~Study the rules of the exam by heart and dilligently prepare~Dilligently study for the exam and try to learn the rules}.

As with any exams, the SAT PREP test has its standardized set of rules that you have to understand in order to achieve a good score. We will provide you with proven tips on how to score high in your SAT Test.

Write in the test booklet

Use your booklet to your advantage when taking the SAT PREP exam. Anyway, nobody is going to read whatever you write on it. Use your booklet to write down formulas and equations or use available space when solving math problems. You can also use it when drafting an outline, paraphrasing or underlining a keyword to better understand what you have read.

Transfer answers at the end of each section

Going back and forth between the scantron and the test booklet can take too much of your time during the exam. Time which you don’t have. It is better to transfer your answer at the end of each section. Don’t hesitate to write your answer first in the test booklet and later transfer them at the end of every section or page. This process will avoid mistakes and give you more time.

Don’t rush

Haste makes waste, so cool down and think. It is best to calm down and do not rush to answer the questions because this can add to the pressure. Calm down and try answering only question you are sure of and not to guess when you are not. It is better to leave a question blank which translate to zero point than a wrong answer which will get you a 1/4 point deduction. For example, you will definitely get a higher score if you answer the question 75% correct, then answering all the questions but get only 50% correct.

Choose your question and answer

Be careful which questions you answer first. Take this advice except for the Critical Reading section where the questions are organized from least difficult to the hardest. But it does not mean the easy questions will be the easiest to answer.

Highest Rated Fashion and Design Colleges in the US

November 28th, 2009 by admin

You may be surprised to learn that if you are considering a career, there probably is a school specific to that trade to assist you in a no-filler technique for education for that employment field. Renowned schools that cater to targeted careers include anything from culinary arts to criminal justice. Possibly one of the favorite of these are the fashion and design colleges.

There is no dearth of available colleges offering fashion designing courses. The worst part of it is that they all will claim to be the best, and their websites do little to disprove the claim. I believe that, by way of a good bit of research and school review, I have assembled a very strong list of what can essentially be considered the best fashion and design colleges in the United States.

These fashion colleges all sit at the same level, and therefore there’s no order to their listing here.

We can comfortably start with LIM College. Located in the heart of Manhattan in New York City, LIM has been producing leaders in the fashion world for years and years. Their principal draw lies with their undergraduate programs, for example fashion and visual merchandising, management and marketing. They also provide graduate MBA programs for those looking for a serious stake in the fashion industry.

Another institution that’s making a lot of noise in the fashion world is FIDM, more informally called the Fashion Institute of Merchandising. Among the best things about this school is that it is in fact divided amongst four campuses, all of which provide the same undergraduate degrees for prospective students. These campuses are located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orange County and San Diego. An interesting factoid about FIDM is that they’re the location for the filming of Project Runway, a hit television show that airs on Lifetime.

The final school to be discussed won the Best Fashion Design & Apparel Design Schools & Programs of 2008 award. The Academy of Art University was established in San Francisco eighty years ago, and has not slowed down ever since. The best part about this institution is that they offer at least most of the required credits through web based courses. The following companies are said to choose amongst AAU graduates: Kenneth Cole, BDBG, Louis Vuitton, DKNY and many more.

These are three very solid schools to get you well on your way to a great job in the fashion industry. You can settle for the numerous other schools that litter the internet, however these three have a standing that makes for quite a boost to your resume.
